| Murundu é um tipo de microrrelevo em forma de pequena elevação, geralmente arredondado, muitas vezes apresentando solo e vegetação diferentes da área circundante. Todos os morrotes encontrados em 1,08ha de um campo de murundu foram medidos (comprimento, largura e altura). Determinou-se a profundidade do lençol freático e as características do solo sobre os mesmos e na área plana adjacente. A vegetação lenhosa (cipós, arbustos e árvores) com diâmetro do caule ao nível do solo > 5mm foi amostrada em 48 morrotes. Encontraram-se 434 elevações (31,4% da área) das quais 24,3% apresentaram vegetação lenhosa. A profundidade do lençol freático sob os murundus com vegetação lenhosa variou de 99,2 a 206,8cm. | A dinâmica da comunidade arbórea foi analisada, tendo como base um inventário contínuo em 64 ha da mata de galeria do Gama, na Fazenda Água Limpa, DF. O inventário consistiu de 151 parcelas permanentes (10 x 20 m) contíguas locadas em dez transectos eqüidistantes 100 m uns dos outros. Todos os indivíduos com diâmetro à altura do peito (DAP) maior ou igual a 10 cm foram mapeados nas parcelas, marcados e medidos em 1985, 1988, 1991, 1994, 1999 e 2004. O incremento periódico anual (IPA) no período de 19 anos foi de 0,22 cm ano-1 com coeficientes de variação de 84% a 143%. | The area evaluated in this study was a continuous stretch comprising three vegetation formations: gallery forest, semideciduous seasonal forest and cerradão (woodland savanna). The aim of this study was to examine the tree community dynamics in a forest gradient-from gallery forest to cerradão-at Panga Ecological Station, in the city of Uberlandia, located in the state of Minas Gerais, Brazil. | ABSTRACT: This study aimed to perform phytochemical analysis and to test the antimicrobial activity of the crude hydroalcoholic extract obtained from the leaves of Sphagneticola trilobata. Classes of secondary metabolites present in the extract were identified through phytochemical screening using analytical thin-layer chromatography.
